Pair of 18k (750/1000) yellow gold stud earrings, adorned with semi-round Akoya pearls of approximately 7 mm, white with a soft pink overtone, and a very beautiful luster.
Developed in Japan at the end of the 19th century by Kokichi Mikimoto, who harvested his first perfectly round pearl in July 1893 in Ago Bay, Akoya pearls owe their unique luster to a layered nacre structure that iridescently reflects light, creating the much sought-after golden, silvery, or pinkish reflections in jewelry.
